Wedding Cake

The wedding cake is often the main focal point at the reception for many couples, which is why so much pressure is often placed upon choosing the perfect style. Traditionally, wedding cakes were iced, with a few pretty adornments here and there, but this year pâtissiers have thrown out the rulebook and given tradition a make-under. Forgoing the outer layer of thick icing and showcasing the colours and textures of the inside, a new trend in cakes has immerged, known as the ‘naked cake’. The style lends itself rather nicely to rustic themed events, but can be decorated in such a way to fit in with any style, theme and colour scheme.
