Tell us about Anne Miller Marriage Celebrant

A Perth-based marriage celebrant who has married 500+ couples. The light-hearted, relaxed style creates the vibe the couples want for their ceremony and allows them to enjoy that special moment watched on by their family and friends. I make the getting married process easy, and guide my couples through it all so, at the end of the day, they’re legally married!

Have a range of ceremony options from full service, and elopements to just signing the marriage register, and all are listed on her website www.annemillercelebrant.com.au

What was the journey that brought you to what you do?

Watching our daughter get married was the moment when I knew I wanted to be involved in such a happy time in everyone’s lives. So three weeks later I was enrolled in my training course and wished I had known about being a marriage celebrant for my career years before. It was a perfect fit for me with my background in writing, public speaking, performing and singing, and event management.

What’s behind your success?

The wedding industry in Perth is such a creative and dynamic group of people who all want to give couples the best day of their lives. I have built a strong reputation with venues and suppliers as a celebrant who brings their best for each and every couple – and winning awards over the last few years backs up this claim.

What’s a mistake you’ve made that you’ll never make again?

Wow! Which one? Mistakes are a learning opportunity for us all, but one that comes to mind was at one of my first ceremonies. I wasn’t sure about where to set up my PA system and consequently, there was feedback throughout the ceremony.

What do you love about working in the wedding industry?

It’s dynamic, trend-driven, creative, fun, and hard work, and I love it!

What are your predictions for the industry for the next few years?

Destination weddings will be back with travel restrictions lifted but I think elopements are going to get a boost with couples choosing to have smaller, intimate days with just a few close family and friends. Oh and white weddings, guests too!

What’s the one secret about your field or industry you wish everyone knew?

I often read comments about celebrants just rocking up on the day and that’s their job done! Like me, most celebrants become very invested in their couple. They find out so much about them, their relationship, their family, their dreams for their wedding day, and more. And being booked usually 2 years in advance, we become very close. The hours that go into each couple do differ but on average it’s around 15-20 hours and not just 30 minutes on the day.

What’s your main goal for the year ahead?

To make each of my couples have the best wedding ceremony ever!
